At our NCK MATCA (National Center of Competence – Materials, Advanced Technologies, Coatings and their Applications), which operates under the Institute of Physics of the Czech Academy of Sciences, we have been engaged in 3D printing since our founding in 2019. We have access to a wide range of industrial additive technologies from companies such as Trumpf, EOS, SLM Solutions, and Formlabs. All these machines share one thing in common – they are perfectly suited for industrial applications and guarantee high-quality results.
However, we are well aware that the main barrier to wider adoption of 3D printing in Czech industry remains the high acquisition cost. That is why the SLS4ALL project and their INOVA MK1 device caught our attention. Honestly – at first, we were quite skeptical about the combination of the stated parameters and the low price. A complete set of parts for building your own SLS system at a fraction of the cost of an industrial machine sounded almost too good to be true.
We ordered the Full Kit, i.e., the complete set of components for building the machine – and there really are a lot of parts! Nevertheless, the perfect organization of the components, clear labeling, and integration with the interactive manual leave virtually no room for error.
Whenever we encountered a problem, Tomas and his team were immediately available. I appreciate their proactive approach and willingness to help even outside of working hours – and even during vacations.
I would also like to highlight the interactive assembly manual, which is prepared at a professional level and makes it easy to get oriented in each step of the build.
After assembling the device, a self-check procedure runs to verify the correct wiring and assembly of all components, pair the thermistors, and perform calibration before the first print.
Tuning the parameters for our PA12 powder took about two or three jobs – since then, we’ve just been printing.
Many thanks to the entire SLS4ALL team for their work and approach – I’m happy to recommend them further!
