When I first saw the SLS4All project, it was immediately clear to me: I wanted a printer like that! However, since the kit wasn\u2019t available at the time, I decided to build the project completely myself \u2013 without a kit, using only my own initiative and know-how.<\/em><\/p>\n\n\n\n

I manufactured all the parts, plates, and aluminum profiles myself \u2013 mostly using my own CNC machine, which I also built myself. The necessary 3D-printed parts for the assembly came from my Bambu Lab X1C and were made of ASA-CF, which proved to be an ideal choice in terms of heat resistance and stability.<\/em><\/p>\n\n\n\n

The assembly instructions and electrical documentation provided by Tomas are excellent \u2013 \u200b\u200bvery detailed and easy to understand. Despite the good instructions, this project is not for beginners: It requires high precision in mechanical manufacturing, careful assembly, and a certain degree of technical understanding.<\/em><\/p>\n\n\n\n

What particularly impressed me was the printer\u2019s mechanics: They are excellently thought out \u2013 compact, efficient, and extremely functional. Despite the complex technology, the entire device is surprisingly space-saving, without compromising on stability or accessibility.<\/em><\/p>\n\n\n\n

Before this project, I had only had experience with FDM printers. Switching to SLS was a major challenge \u2013 especially the interplay of laser power, powder handling, temperature control, and software requires a lot of fine-tuning and understanding. But that\u2019s exactly what makes the project so exciting: You learn an incredible amount \u2013 about material behavior, control technology, thermodynamics, and optical systems.<\/em><\/p>\n\n\n\n

I would like to highlight Pavel\u2019s software that controls the system. I\u2019ve rarely seen such well-thought-out, intuitive, and powerful software in the DIY sector, even in commercial devices you rarely see something like this. The integration, stability, and range of functions are impressive.<\/em><\/p>\n\n\n\n

The printer itself offers a variety of intelligent features that simplify operation and calibration. From sensor-based temperature control to automatic exposure correction and a clear web interface \u2013 the system appears well thought out and sophisticated.<\/em><\/p>\n\n\n\n
